The sudden shift to virtual / remote / hybrid instruction in thousands of schools has exacerbated existing deficits and led to a Wild West of digital curricula. Setting aside valid concerns about inherent bias and limitations of textbooks, they at least offer structure and a self-contained curriculum of sorts, outlining the topics and content appropriate for a given course.
