I believe reporting about events as accurately as possible helps move the world in a positive direction. I believe mutual aid is better than mutual destruction.

Some of deal basis for new right-wing govt, giving far-right "Sweden Democrats" near all current demands:
• Let cops search anyone without suspicion of any crime in whole areas.
• Cop checks against foreigners get to search mobile phones (all social media content, etc).
[1/4]→ ←[2/4]
More of new govt deal in Sweden:
• Allow anonymous testimonies in courts, disabling ability to defend against perjurious witnesses.
• Forfeiture of property will assume guilt until proof of innocence (do you still have all receipts for everything you bought, ever?).

Really disgusting the weasel language news outlets recent decade let xenophobes change into new norm.
"Migrants" includes e.g. bankers moving from London to Berlin.
When you KNOW they near exclusively mean those seeking refuge from death & persecution, use correct term. Refugees. Yes, in case you don't remember, norm in reporting was to presume even people arriving undocumented intend to seek asylum and if one does it legally IS assumed one has valid claim unless ruled otherwise.
Same principle as "innocent until proven guilty",
but press lost integrity.

After a break I continue my two threads of about 650 tweets related to the feminist antiauthoritarian protests against Jîna/Mahsa Amini being murdered by "morality" police in Tehran and related uprisings in Rojhelat & all Iran starting in this new thread. Among those detainees least 180 injured civilians who were tortured under detention or were hit by bullets during protests. Image

It's because the incorrect label as "terrorist" is based NOT on having committed any terrorism (haven't) but instead legal acts of resistance against a State that actually commits terrorism, that's why it's so easy to just declare any act of dissent "PKK" to imprison and silence. Very convenient for regimes of Turkey to have a constant vague bogeyman to point at to generate compliance through fear & label dissidents as to silence in prison.
For other States, it's just prioritizing e.g. air force bases over human survival that keeps PKK "terrorist"-listed.
