✝️ "Paul said women...!"

Paul said in Christ there is no male or female (Gal 3:27); not to judge anyone by the flesh (II Cor 5:16); and that God will justify circumcised and uncircumcised alike (Rom 3:30). [So, even if you don't have a penis, right?] Logion 22 of the Coptic Gospel of Thomas quotes Jesus teaching a non-dualistic theology of gender. The two are one in spirit. Not far from Gen 2:24 one flesh

✝️ "Homosexuality is sin!"

Wrong by definition. All the Greek and Hebrew words for "sin" imply a straying off-course. Your claim is that homosexuals are perpetually, incorrigibly off-course

This fails the definition of sin...

❤💙💚💛🧡💜 It is its exact opposite: Attraction and falling in love with the same sex for LGBTQ people is NOT straying off-course; but their God-given nature and dignity from birth

Go in peace to love and serve the Lord, and learn to respect the dignity of every human being

✝️ Hellenistic Judaism in NT

Judea was under Greek rule for 400 years, thoroughly Hellenized (mostly) with mutual respect in language, government, education. On the level of public morality there was culture clash. Paul had a Greek education (Acts 17) which suited him for... mission to Gentiles praying in Greek speaking diaspora synagogues. His letters contain ideas and concepts familiar to educated Greeks (Rom 1) notably πνευμα, spirit and σαρξ, flesh (Gal 5)

To "inherit / achieve the kingdom" (Gal 5:21; I Cor 6:10) refers to a goal in this life...

✝️ "Jesus said rebuke the sinner!"

And if they repent YOU must forgive Luke 17:3-4

Sin is harm done to neighbor. Repentance means apology, making amends. Forgiveness is letting it go

John spoke of repentance as a social ethic of loving kindness Isa 40:3-5 Luke 3:1-14 ImageImage By "repentance" Jesus and John meant renewed commitment to interpersonal caritas and loving kindness in society. The best example is the story of the Rich Man and Lazarus Luke 16:19-31 Image

✝️ "God hates sin..."

This is not Christian theology, or Jewish, probably Manichaean, clearly dualist. Sin is harm we do to our siblings. God has compassion on those we hurt. And us: the harm is cyclical. God's answer is love freely offered, to be paid forward even at great cost Image Jesus' willing submission to Roman arrest, torture, and public execution was in compassion for, and loving solidarity with, thousands of Jews Caesar crucified through Pilate, accused and convicted of sin against Rome. God raised him, overcoming Death by a death, the wages of sin

✝️ 1 Tim 1:10 arsenokoites, a slave prostitute; not LGBTQ!

Context: Warns against gnostic (1:4) teachers of ascetical Torah (1:6-10)

Argument: This teaching is too strict, only for godless people like [veiled references to the Imperial household 1:10] not decent citizens 1:9 ImageImageImage IF arsenokoitēs was a prostitute ("manhole") he was not the sinner but the one SINNED AGAINST! captured in Judaea enslaved, sold by andrapodistēs slavers and raped daily in monetized porneia. Fornication was THE cardinal moral complaint against Rome Revelation 17-19 Romans 1 🔥 Image

✝️

The Holy Spirit is the grace which sets sin and hate aside and the consolation stronger than the tomb because ✝️ Christians are called to spread the grace and consolation of the Holy Spirit, pouring forgiveness on sin and healing mercy on hurts; not picking on them, calling attention to others' sins in a world where ALL are broken and in need of infinite grace, boundless compassion 🔥❤

✝️ I Cor 6 is about not taking disputes before debauched Roman judges, rakehells who are not morally fit to judge you. They are unrepentant rapers of slave-prostitutes (such as some of you once were). And they will never reform and be baptized in Christ. Avoid Roman courts! Image Jesus preached about the kingdom of God, meaning that the age of the end-time and its life was now available on earth through BAPTISM and living with direct access to God w/out clergy or Temple.

Paul says these judges will never give up their immoral lifestyle and be BAPTIZED

Lev 18:22 is not about homosexuality. It's a ritual anti-mixing (2 threads, 2 grains, 2 kinds sex) rule for Levitical priests

To avoid ritual mixing (results in actual exogamy, seed-mixing) they must not

1) penetrate Hebrew women AND
2) penetrate Canaanite men (at shrines) Lev 18:22 AND Rom 1:26,27 concern sex with both men and women; NOT simply male-male sex. If that were the case Lev 18:22 wouldve ended at "with a man" and in Rom 1 there'd be no mention of "their wives"

Both are in contexts of anti-mixing hostility toward gentiles (contra Paul!)

@pcollier79c @AboutLungCancer @thePumamama @kevinmyoung It was "one man and ONE woman" = no trophy wife

Do you understand anything you read?

Lev 18:22 It is a rule for Levite priests and Jews returning from Exile and ONLY in Israel. And Jesus only taught TWO commandments

Deut 6:4

The Ten Commandments was a movie starring Charlton Heston

The ten in the Bible have no special significance above the other mitzvot in Judaism

And Jesus taught a radically reduced Torah of only two commandments

Deut 6:4
Lev 19:17,18

Texas Senate 🤡 ✝️

When Paul says, "Under the Torah I died to the Torah" he means the Temple observance rejected by Jesus (in favor of the two commandment Torah) but endorsed / enforced by the Roman occupation under Pilate-Herod to keep Judaea "pacified"

History doesn't repeat; it rhymes

✝️ Problem is I think...

They think ALL sexual desire is sin, that God created humans desireless, innocent (and celibate?) but then Sin entered in via Adam and Eve (and Adam and Steve?)

That is nuts. It did NOT come from the Bible. Likely gnostic Can't believe God would cause someone to be born with homosexual sin (desire)? Where do you think heterosexual sin (desire) comes from?

Are we purely spiritual beings trapped in bodies? Was Jesus not a real human being, a man who was attracted to the opposite sex?

2nd c.??

Religions of Israel's neighbors (Gentiles) were all polytheist Piety = pleasing many gods (jealous of others) via sacrifice to get what you want (dō ut dēs)

Religion(s) of the Bible (and Qur'an) are all monotheist
Piety = worship of the one God who loves humankind and... entire cosmos

Sacrifice is thanksgiving or sign of repentance for the already given. Christianity: God who loves us + cosmos sacrificed Godself for our sake

"Non-believers" lost (in hell) are polytheists (idolators) essentially worship self pleasing many gods to get stuff...
