Thread on evolution for people who don't really understand it. Firstly, we did not evolve from chimpanzees. We share a common ancestor but we split ways roughly 4 million years ago. So no, chimps aren't evolving into humans now because well, they can't. Also, it takes millions and millions of years for an organism to evolve. It occurs through a process called natural selection. It begins when an organsim is born with a favourable mutation. This mutation helps the organism survive and find a mate to pass on the mutated gene.
