10 things / tips about Search Console performance data you mightn't know about πŸ’‘

1/ Position is only recorded when an impression is recorded.

2/ If you only operate in one country, your data will be skewed by default. Filter by country.

🧡... 3/ Position is calculated on the left (primary side) top-to-bottom and then then on right side.

4/ If there's many pages ranking for the same query, Search Console records the best position. When it aggregates avg. position, it averages the best position across queries.

For most of us that's historical data in GA.

You can start simple in Sheets with =forecast() and then apply a seasonality index from the average. Use that as the basis for developing ranking scenarios thereafter.
