I'd like to share a lesson in patient/client/child/person centered care by my neice & nephew after my daughter tripped in the park & scraped knees. 1. Niece asks: Can I help you with your knees? (A=Yes) 'tell me when you're ready'. Niece smiles. 2. Niece explains procedure
(Dabbing with wet paper towel) and adds, 'this may hurt a little but it's only water and its really important to clean it...wow, you're doing great. 3. Nephew adds: ' when I get hurt I like to think of happy things. Let's see. What is your favourite thing on the whole world?
