1/ There is a movement building of people pushing for restrictions in schools this fall. Others have quietly moved on and don’t have the courage to own their role in damaging pandemic policies.
With no political voice, children were sacrificed.
🧵A summary for the history books
2/ Children and youth have been treated as a vectors of disease. They have been forced to be the martyrs in the story of our broken healthcare system. With school closures and harmful mitigation measures, their well-being was sacrificed in the name of politics.

1/ FOI Request🧵
Take a seat.
Read it all.
Retweet.
Request: “All records within Premier’s and Cabinet offices, sent to and/or from the Ministry of Education, related to the province-wide reopening and closures of schools for the time period of Dec 1 2020 to June 2 2021” 2/ This 61pg document took two appeals to the Information and Privacy Commissioner, a mediator, 2 lost cheques, and 325 days to receive.
The redacted documents were ready in March but not released until cheques found. This (coincidently) happened the day after the election.

1/ Another FOI from Ministry of Education🧵
Over 140pgs of email correspondence between the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education regarding decision to mask K-Gr 3.
It paints a picture of disorganization and lack of knowledge/direction at the cost of our children 2/ Prior to schools closing in Jan 2021, the Ministry of Education was already discussing what to do regarding masks.
In Dec 2020 they requested a summary of board action. Even the MOE didn’t know what their own boards were implementing. It was a free-for-all. Disorganized Chaos

1/ I have obtained a FOIA response from the Public Health Agency of Canada regarding a request for all evidence based scientific data used to inform and guide public policy around masking in schools.
While some push to reimplement mandates, let me express the concerns of many🧵 2/ The studies used to form school policy did NOT involve children. They were short in duration and they do not reflect the impact of wearing a mask for extended periods of time.
Think long term masking is harmless? We do not know that with certainty.
