1/ A week ago @taygoldenstein wrote a superb piece about the dysfunction inside the Texas Attorney General’s Office human trafficking division, which closed only 4 cases in the past 2 years. It got me thinking…
houstonchronicle.com/politics/texas…2/ Beyond the AG’s office, Texas leaders hold prayer vigils and pledge to end human trafficking. But our state can be hostile to people at greatest risk for trafficking: Those who are homeless. Those in foster care. Migrant workers, esp undocumented.
1/ I’m not sure who needs to hear this, but there is NO candidate on the Nov. 3 ballot who could possibly impose a state income tax in Texas. Seriously. It can’t be done. Republicans know this. But they’re using this lie against some Democratic candidates anyway. THREAD --->
