But the economic benefit of more jobs is dwarved by the potential return on investment as a shareholder of a successful 100x startup...
@MoiraWere@joshgarratt ...of course that return doesn't land until long after the term of that state government has ended, so the politicians aren't actually interested in economic return so much as announceables about jobs...

On one hand, in an epically shit week for gender equality in Australia, it's great to see LaunchVic announce a $10M sidecar fund for women-led early-stage startups...
On the other hand, it kills me when a gov fail to grasp that sidecar funds can act to reinforce the impact of existing unconscious biases. You just get more capital going into the rare women-led startup getting VC, you don't get more women-led startups raising.
