Have you heard that you are the average of the 5 people you surround yourself with?

The exact same thing applies here in FinTwit.

Here are the 5 investors (with their best threads) that has made me the investor I am today: @heymaxkoh is one of the most dedicated, knowledge-hungry, and driven person I know out there.

He summarizes all his learnings from top CEOs, books, investors, and fund managers globally.

I attended the $SE AGM earlier today.

Answers were general, but Forrest Li's closing speech was what hit the homerun for me.

He talked about how Sea Limited has created new opportunities/experiences in developing countries like Indonesia.

Here are 6 of my key takeaways: 1/ Garena

In Indonesia, not everyone has access to expensive phones or computers, especially in rural areas.

Garena has created a low barrier of entry for Free Fire in a way where even $100-$200 mobile phones can enjoy a smooth gaming experience.

Why do 2 companies with the SAME revenue and growth rate, be assigned DIFFERENT multiples?

A thread to explain this👇 The difference lies in the Quality of Revenue.

All revenues are NOT created equally.

Here are the characteristics of high quality revenue:

1) Profitability
2) Predictability
3) Diversity

What I like about $PAR is they can evaluate potential acquisitions through their customers.

Some customers might be using different platform/service for different functions.

Let's use @getpunchh as an example. $PAR can check with their customers on what they think of @getpunchh solutions.

At the same time, if many of their customers are using it, that means the product has some value and benefits.

So $PAR gets first hand user experiences & reviews on it.

My summary from the $PAR Punchh acquisition call earlier.

It's an amazing opportunity right out there.

Thread 👇 How much overlap between Brink, RM and Punchhh? What is the cross selling opportunity?

-Site count: Brink 30% penetrated with Punchhh
-Punchh landed 35% of top 100 chains in the country
-Significant cross sell opportunity
-Both can pull each other upwards

Love this.

Several media/news outlet nowadays are two-faced.

1 day, they can say it's a bull market. The next day, it's a bear market.

Their purpose is to create irrational fear and greed in the market.

Look at these 2 headlines from a reputable site from 11 & 12 Jun 2020. Image In my early days of investing, I was fixated on these news. Especially when things are free falling and my emotions were taking over.

But then I realize it's a complete waste of time and brain power, which can be spent on just reading on companies.
