2005 P&P fans are interacting with me and I could read them for filth, but hasn’t life already done enough to them??? I mean, they have to go around talking about a hand shake and Keira Knightley’s TMJ. That’s sad.
It must be said tho that the score and set design of the 2005 is 🔥. And everybody does a brilliant job except, like, Darcy, Lizzie, and Bingley. Lol Rosamund Pike was miscast but I was intrigued by her steely Jane, lol.
Delete your account and never speak to me again. COLIN FIRTH'S DARCY IS AWKWARD AND ANXIOUS AND FALSE DARCY IS JUST A BLANK-FACED NOBODY FROM THE PROVINCES WHO THINKS CONSTIPATION IS THE SAME THING AS AN INNER LIFE.
I have decided to let Modernism into my heart and now I am rewriting my novel about Iowa City artists in the voice of To The Lighthouse. Please respect my privacy as I accept that this is who I am now, lol.
🥴 Modernism. Me. What is the world coming to.
At first, I did not realize what was going on. I thought, "Why does this sound so weird and also so familiar" and then I was like, "oh it's just the first ten pages of To The Lighthouse, but in Iowa. Oh no. I've caught Modernism."
Just made myself laugh by remembering that several kings of England threw their nation into disarray because they couldn't stop being in love with their male best friends. What gay among us hasn't thrown away our entire lives due to codependent relationships with toxic men.
You know who else was kind of a gay disaster? Henry IV of Castile. Underrated homosexual monarch.
His story is really sad because it involves a lot of grooming and potential sexual trauma, and it's kind of wild.
I have been doing this for maybe less than a month, lol. But literally I bought a film camera from an antique store in town, bought some film, and then started snapping. It can be that simple if you want!
Ebay has been really really really helpful in this journey. I've gotten lenses for some really decent prices and like...incredibly fast shipping. So, I say if you already have a camera, then get yourself like a 50mm lens that fits your mount and buy some Kodak film and go snap!
I had 2 rolls of Fuji Superia 400, 1 roll of Kodak Gold 200, and 1 Roll of Portra 800 developed, and from what I can tell, my Fuji rolls mostly came back mushy and washed out though it was cloudy when I shot them.
Kodak Gold 200 is stunningggggg on a really sunny day, and Portra is Portra.
I'm going to try to shoot the Fuji on a sunnier day. Also with a better aperture.
Something I’ve had to watch for and guard against from a childhood of trauma and violence is that when people ask me if I want to do something, I literally don’t even think about if I want to do it because I’m too busy trying to figure out what it is they want me to say, lmfaooo
It has only occurred to me fairly recently that my own wishes and desire to do things seldom enter into my calculations when someone asks me to do something. I’m still the kid who is afraid of his parents hitting him or getting mad if I don’t answer correctly.
It turns out that treating all of your human relationships like they’re a test to be passed or failed or a game to be won or lost is very unhealthy!
Last night I saw a fan bot account for an author call the author out over a line of dialogue in the novel and demand accountability from them on this website and knew that we’d jumped the shark. Truly, reality is glitching.
At a certain point, it’s not even funny any more. Just weird.
The fan bot account literally tagged the author and said “please explain” 😖
Important camera update: I bought an adapter a few days ago to use my FL/FD lenses on my EOS 1N, but it would not work. And I was kind of sad. But then I ordered another adapter with electronic connectors, and it arrived today, and it works perfectly. 🥺
I have been waiting for my last four rolls to get developed before I went out shooting with the new camera just because it's still a little...temperamental and I want to make sure I have a reasonable sense of what I'm doing before I go out with it, lol.
The new camera is very advanced and it is supposed to make a lot of things easy, but I just got acclimated to doing everything manually and the new digital tools are very scary at first.
