Here’s how our team, led by Aaron Rodericks who previously led election integrity efforts at Twitter, is preparing: We’ll be reviewing content for potential misinfo and unconfirmed info regarding claims about the U.S. election.

Bluesky is building a social protocol. We released “ADX” (the X stood for Experiment) in May. Now that the design is starting to solidify, we’re renaming it to the “Authenticated Transport Protocol” — the “AT Protocol.”

Given the surge of interest in Twitter's future, we thought this would be a good time to clarify the relationship between Bluesky and Twitter. The bluesky project originated with Twitter in 2019, but the Bluesky PBLLC established this year is an independent company focused on decentralized social network R&D.

With the new team on board, we’re ready to share some of the groundwork we've been doing for Bluesky. blueskyweb.xyz/blog/3-6-2022-… Bluesky’s mission is to drive the evolution from platforms to protocols. The tools for public conversation should exist outside of private companies as common infrastructure, like the Internet itself.

One of the goals when we announced bluesky was to develop a grounded understanding of relevant work that many talented people in the decentralization community have been doing. Today, we want to share an update on this.

Starting last February, we invited a diverse group of people from different parts of the decentralization community to a virtual forum for collaboration + discussion. They led an inspiring conversation on the purpose bluesky is intended to serve and the directions it can take.
