The Rejection of Milei's Omnibus Bill

What happened yesterday was nothing short of expected. Anyone who is an avid follower of politics, especially of Latin American newcomers like Bolsonaro back in 2018 and Milei in 2023, would have seen the writing on the wall.

A newly-elected president with the slimmest presence in Congress tries his hand at a "Reform Everything" approach without a sniff of negotiation.

+ This is Argentina, the land of powerful provincial governors who will not be undercut no matter how exuberant the presidential sideburns. An experienced politician would have known to at least have a mate with some of them. Not Milei. They're "La Casta," and that's that.
