I hope Tennessee is watching and listening because @brotherjones_ is speaking some truths. I know that Zachary and his ilk don’t want to open their minds, but I think most Tennesseans do.

The only path forward for this state is embracing a culture that includes everyone ✊🏾✊🏽✊🏿 These white men don’t acknowledge that racism exists, so they never see it in themselves.

A few years ago in Knoxville I made an illegal u-turn. I parked, exited my car, and there was a cop who saw the whole thing.

I gave him a guilty-looking nod and he said, "You know that's illegal right?"

"No. Sorry!"

I smiled. He smiled. I kept walking. That's peak whiteness. In my defense, I didn't realize it was illegal.

Black Lives Matter.
