New: @GovPritzker signed 265 bills today. A sampling:
- SB 2764 requires companies offering a free trial of 15+ days with an automatic renewal to notify the consumer at least 3 days before the cancelation deadline.
- SB 3203 caps the monthly co-pay for an asthma inhaler at $25. - SB 3285 creates resentencing rules for survivors of domestic abuse and gender-based violence who previously took a plea deal during their original sentencing.
- SB 3353 would allow @IDPH to create a program to distribute free fentanyl test strips.

.@RepKellyCassidy and members of the House's Dobbs working group just spoke on the floor highlighting "a deeply concerning trend" of violence (and the political rhetoric that fuels the flames) against abortion providers and LGBT people. #twill Cassidy mentions the arson at a Peoria Planned Parenthood Clinic earlier this year and the attempted burning of a Danville abortion clinic last weekend.

.@ILAttyGeneral's report on Catholic clergy sexual abuse brought me back to late 2018, when the Diocese of Springfield, at the AG's behest, started disclosing some names of accused clergy. One was Joseph Cernich, who hadn't been publicly accused before.
sj-r.com/story/news/201… I was shocked at the time to find that Cernich had been employed by Springfield's public utility since 2003, the same year he was defrocked. I flagged it for my editor and our city hall reporter @bycrystalthomas, who took it from there:

House Democrats have posted a far more detailed Google map of the proposed district boundaries. Take a look here #twill google.com/maps/d/u/1/vie… After a decade with three senators repping Springfield, the capital city will largely be within one Senate district (shades of green). Rep. Sue Scherer’s House district (light green), which currently ends at Walnut Street, stretches out to Veterans Parkway on the west side.

A few preliminary takeaways:

As expected, @VoteforDoris’ 48th Senate district picks up much of Springfield’s west side and drops GOP-trending Macoupin and Montgomery counties. Still probably a toss-up seat, but gives her a much better chance to win a full term. #twill Image As for the House side, Rep. Sue Scherer’s Springfield-Decatur seat remains intact. But Rep. @AveryBourne’s is significantly altered and now appears to include @RepTimButler’s northend home. Image

There’s got to be at least 1,000 people protesting outside the Illinois Capitol today. Vast majority not wearing masks. No social distancing whatsoever. #twill Chant of “Open Illinois!” breaks out. #twill
