A brief story in which, during a pandemic, a @cvspharmacy pharmacy manager loudly and proudly declared to be on the side of that pandemic... I'm in line to pick up my brain meds. I would get them delivered if I could, but this med can't be delivered. So, once a month, I just have to brave the pharmacy. And just before it's my turn at the counter, the pharmacy manager says loudly, "I'm getting married next month."

"IF WARREN REALLY BELIEVED IN BERNIE'S PROGRESSIVE GOALS, SHE WOULD ENDORSE HIM!"
"PEOPLE ARE DYING BECAUSE THEY CAN'T BUY INSULIN BUT I GUESS PEOPLE BEING MEAN MAKES YOU NOT CARE!"

Let's unpack this for a second, shall we? The obvious insinuation from any Bernie zealot on the attack against Warren, her supporters, really anyone that is not already for Bernie, is that if you do not back Bernie Sanders, you are literally against all of his goals and will be venomously combative about that perception.

5-6 years ago, I started a project on spec for a producer. Did it for free for a couple of drafts because I just had nothing else in mind to write. Heard nothing really after the second draft and assumed all was dead. Last year, he emailed out of the blue to talk about it. We had a call, talked about having another one a few weeks later once he finished setting up his new company, never heard back. Again assumed all was dead (again). Two weeks ago, he emailed out of the blue again to talk about it. Now with his company up and running and producing.

Still thinking about the entitlement from those that believe it’s their duty to tag creatives and shit down their throats with unsolicited criticism and negativity. Some justify it by comparing it to criticizing the work from other professions, like a lawyer. Let’s unpack that. If you go to a doctor, that doctor is providing you a service. You are paying the doctor to address your specific needs. Should they do so in a way you find unsatisfactory, certainly you have justification to make that known.

I have depression. I've thought about killing myself plenty of times in my life. One or two times, I came really close to being strong enough to try. In none of those times did I feel strong enough to reach out for help. I didn't feel strong enough to call anyone, tell anyone. 1/ And that's part of what depression does. It isolates you. It pulls you away. It weighs you down mentally, emotionally, spiritually. One of the hardest things for someone in those moments to do is to reach out.
