You should have. It's in a popup blocking the unroll from view. @threadreaderapp Also, let us note the time stamp on the tweet you're linking to.

@elonmusk @SeibtNaomi Do you know what would be nice, Elon? IF YOU MANAGED TO KEEP YOUR WORD, EVEN ONCE. You told us that you were all about free speech, that the days of arbitrary censorship on this site were over.

Tell that the @sighing_sadly, who just got permanently locked out of her account. @elonmusk @SeibtNaomi @sighing_sadly A lot of what happened to her was just like the old days, under @jack. She got ganged up on by some trolls, and then (wonder of wonders) your system "detected unusual activity" from her account, as she typed slowly.

She was given an "Arkose challenge." She passed it.

@roadtoserfdom3 @sighing_sadly It was never the only public square. There has always been another, better public square which we've just let ourselves forget about, because sitting at a keyboard typing is so easy, until it's not.

That public square is the real, tangible world. @roadtoserfdom3 @sighing_sadly @chicagolandish has already mentioned an event I was present for. On the first day of the Illinois lockdown, he headed out to Lincoln Park (the park, not the neighborhood) a bit before curfew was to begin.

@sighing_sadly @Akashi64580362 @Nefertari_Salem He finally answered the question, while tossing in some more personal abuse.

I'll quote ... @sighing_sadly @Akashi64580362 @Nefertari_Salem "You can find that it's y- haplogroup just by googling yet you asked me for no reason. Facts don't change whether I say yes or no. When arguing go straight to the point...of course obnoxious person can't understand this simple thing"

@TwitterSpaces How about the reaction on has when one discovers that Twitter doesn't want to have anybody in a space hear from one, because one doesn't own a cell phone? As I, just now, as I joined this space

twitter.com/i/spaces/1kvJp…

and looked for the microphone mentioned in the directions.
. @TwitterSpaces Not finding one, I tweeted to the organizer, who was good enough to reply quickly and give me the bad news: that the mic could only be given to those who had the "app" installed.

In other words, those who connected by cell phone instead of by desk top or lap top.

@NikkiDeeAuthor Yes, it's #scones. @NikkiDeeAuthor You can see the first use of that prompt here.

You could use that one. It was the first one announced, today, your time, beating out #funny by a few minutes.

@MarkWal06578936 @roadtoserfdom3 A link to the tweet that Twitter chose to make "unavailable."

^ This is the parent tweet for Mr. Wall's tweet, which as one can see, Twitter has hidden for a lot of people.

archive.ph/eetoJ

They haven't stopped playing games. @MarkWal06578936 @roadtoserfdom3 One can see another copy of Walls' tweet in the Internet Archive

and, again, @roadtoserfdom3's tweet, the parent tweet, can be seen to be missing.

@juneslater17 @bjames280961 @JamesMelville Sorry June, no. I was one of the people defying the lockdowns on day one, and I knew that this was all BS within the first hour of hearing the words "social distancing." I even posted about it.

You know what I heard in response? People like you going into hysterics. @juneslater17 @bjames280961 @JamesMelville I had somebody seriously try to claim that basic Probability Theory was ableist. I wish that were a joke, but no, it's the sad literal truth.

I was floored by just how confident s t u p i d people could be.

@PamelaGeller I just heard that the "UFOs" in question were just some more balloons, smaller in size than the last one that the Chinese sent over. If so, isn't even one fighter jet serious, overpriced overkill?

How hard could it be to take out a balloon? @PamelaGeller A sidewinder missile, I understand, costs over $400,000. A balloon probably doesn't cost the Chinese anywhere close to that.

@Brosephchadsky @QueerComicBooks @PeterSweden7 Or the part where people were slammed face first into the pavement by their local police for being outside for "inessential" purposes?

Such incidents were not only captured on video, but passionately defended by people like QCB. @Brosephchadsky @QueerComicBooks @PeterSweden7 In Chicago, we managed to escape the full repressive misery of a Melbourne style lockdown, just barely, because when it was attempted in March of 2020, it immediately encountered pushback, in the form of massive civil disobedience.

@chaplainamartin @jswtreeman I don't know if there was ever a time in History when asking a question like that would have made you look like anything other than a pampered, privileged, sheltered douchebag, but now, in the post-lockdown era, it's an even worse look than usual. @chaplainamartin @jswtreeman Did you sleep through the last three years, as businesses were forcibly shut down by local governments, which then continued to collect property taxes, driving so-called "non-essential businesses" into bankruptcy, wiping out jobs?

@sighing_sadly That's entertaining. If you take a look at the archived quote replies for @brclothwrite's tweets

archive.is/1Rl9g

even though my reply would be the most recent, it is nowhere to be seen. @sighing_sadly A friend of mine says that she can see it, but when I went there, just now, it was still absent. If this were almost anywhere other than Twitter, I'd think that maybe they had rolled out a new feature, figuring that users didn't need to be shown their own replies.

@sighing_sadly @_film_noir_ What @_film_noir_ ran into is what can be called the standard Twitter non-response to an appeal: a form letter saying that "suspicious activity" was detected from his account, with absolutely no explanation as to what that meant given, even after repeated requests. @sighing_sadly @_film_noir_ When your team will not tell the user who has been locked out of his account what, exactly, he is supposedly guilty of, and punishment continues anyway, that's outrageous. When you allow that reality to continue, and then pretend that you're fixing it, where's your integrity?

@Skailight I have an ever growing family of bookcases. Regrettably, some of the movers who were entrusted with my possessions turned out to be uncaring clods, and most of my bookcases were damaged, so I'll have to get new ones.

So, at the moment, they're stacked in boxes, mostly in storage @Skailight I hope to change that, soon. Strange situation - I was living in an apartment managed by people who decided to read Marie Kondo into the lease, and tried to evict me on the basis that since I had more than 40 books on my shelves, that the books qualified as "clutter."

@gmail Did you know that the hardships worked on Google users by the security theater seen out of the Google design team don't matter (to Google)?

It's true! Let me give you a recent example, from personal experience ... @gmail I'm moving, for reasons that aren't entirely voluntary. If you've been following the news in Chicago, you can probably hazard a guess as to what they are. Let's just say that the absence of nearby shootings in my new place has been a nice change of pace.

But something went wrong

@elonmusk I think that nobody is going to win it, that there will only be degrees of losing it, but that there will be no way to avoid it, because too many people have lost sight of both common sense and common decency. @elonmusk I think we're far closer to the time of the end of this civilization than we are to the time of its beginning, and that when the fall comes, as much as it will be lamented, it will be needed.

@MikeBroderick33 @SethAbramson Not sure I'd take a possibly bitter ex-wife's word for a thing like that. When did she say that, and what was the state of their marriage at that point?

Also, did she say that he had it there every night, or just had been reading it at some point? @MikeBroderick33 @SethAbramson Mr. Trump doesn't strike me as the most scholarly sort, but if he were studying WWII history at the time, there would be an obvious reason for him to be reading something written by one of that era's major figures.

@vShadowWatcherv @deer_learner @KO_Verified "It's just dribble and rambling."

Translation: It went over your head. Not much of an accomplishment, apparently.

"SJW have no business"

If you think I'm an SJW, or that anything I wrote suggests that I am, then you have no real understanding of the meaning of that initialism. @vShadowWatcherv @deer_learner @KO_Verified "You wrote a bunch of tweets that don't say anything actually"

The only real question is whether or not you're s t u p i d enough to honestly believe that, because quite obviously they do say something. Maybe they say something that you disagree with, but there's no sane way ...

@vShadowWatcherv @deer_learner @KO_Verified And do what? Their ability to project power at a distance has been shaky for a long time. They can't invade us. Conversely, with only about 1/4 of their population, we can't invade them.

In theory, if we throw in the Europeans, the odds look better, but let's be realistic. @vShadowWatcherv @deer_learner @KO_Verified Washington has spent decades trying to get the Europeans to defend themselves - without much success, except in the Ukraine.

We're not going to get them to invade China.

@ronrule @MickeyMullin @SSS_gov Just the thing to do on behalf of a morally dubious war that is in real danger of turning nuclear, at a time when the US is already on the brink of civil war for other reasons, and hardly unified in support of the current conflict. @ronrule @MickeyMullin @SSS_gov The last time I checked (before the war), support for secession in Illinois - in the Land of Lincoln, was running at around 33%, about the same level that independence saw during the Revolutionary War.

I can only imagine what it was looking like in some parts of the South.
