It doesn’t hold much weight with me when people say they’ve worked with autistic people for 50 years. Here’s a short thread explaining why:

Some people have asked why disposable plastic straws are necessary for disabled people so here is a thread with some of the reasons. I’m sure there are more reasons that I’m not aware. Straws are absolutely essential for some disabled people. Some disabled people can only eat and drink using straws.

Plastic straws work for many disabled people because they’re soft so they don’t cause injuries and you can bend them to different angles.
