if you’ve never been, Richmond is an awesome town (“RVA ALL DAY!”). monument ave is bizarre, though. those statues are B I G , and they’re “heroes” of the confederacy. one of those statues provides a useful entrèe to the weirdness (the bad kind) of living in the south. /1

Folk rock/soft rock. My opinion of this platinum record went WAY up when i read that he wrote “Song on the Radio” as a joke (because his label requested something uptempo that would get radio play), and it then charted at no. 29.
