Had a great conversation with my neighbor about masks. 😷❤️

I have been taking her grocery shopping every week with me. I’m usually wearing an elastomeric P100 respirator (pictured: what I wore today) or N95. She wears a 3-ply surgical mask. 🧵1/14 A white person with brown eyes wearing a light blue and gray It’s been wonderful that she continues to mask - she understands the seriousness of covid for everyone & knows i’m disabled. But in this 1-way masking environment, her surgical mask is poorly rated and does not offer any type of sealed fit. 2/14

Thread: The lifting of mask mandates in healthcare settings HURTS US ALL. But let’s talk about how the burden continues to fall on disabled and chronically ill patients to keep themselves and everyone around them safe. Predisabled people, listen up. (1/9) Scheduled physical therapy bc of limited mobility and pain. Was informed that masks are no longer mandatory & the office doesn’t supply masks to staff. I had to ask that my physical therapist (pt) wear a mask when working on me, and thankfully the pt is willing to wear one. (2/9)
