Oscar James Dunn (1822–1894) was a politician, civil rights activist, and Union Army soldier who served as the Lieutenant Governor of Louisiana from 1868 to 1871. He was the first “BA” to hold statewide office in Louisiana and one of the first to hold a statewide office in the US He was elected to the Louisiana State Senate in 1868 and was subsequently elected Lieutenant Governor.
