Niko Kovac:
"It looks like we won't have Maxi Beier with us tomorrow. The rest, with the exception of Nico Schlotterbeck, are in the squad."
#BVB
On Felix Nmecha:
"When I arrived in Wolfsburg, he played very little. But you could see straight away that he has skills that can help the team. He combines both - with the ball and against the ball. He still needs to maintain his discipline in defence."

Chelsea are very interested in Jamie Gittens. Chelsea should benefit from good connections to the player's environment. Talks between Gittens' management and the Premier League club are already underway.

Behdad Eghbali manages the business of Chelsea. And he apparently likes Gittens, who could mature into a new figurehead as an England international
So far, Borussia Dortmund have reportedly not received an enquiry for Gittens.

Niko Kovac:
"My goal was to arrive here at Borussia Dortmund, get the ship afloat again and then do a very good job in the medium and long term. Nothing has changed in that respect."

"[...] I don't see myself as a fireman. Every coach who is hired during the course of the season usually has to solve some kind of problem. But the fact that we have signed a contract for a year and a half shows our commitment, a certain commitment"

When Serhou Guirassy decided to join Borussia Dortmund, the club had to break a rule. Normally, there are no exit clauses in players' contracts, but bosses circumvent the principle in exceptional cases.
🗞 @SPORTBILD

As was the case with Erling Haaland. In the case of Guirassy, the club also had to make a compromise. The player has a clause, but the club would benefit massively financially in the event. The total package would be just over 70 million euros.

"None of our players can say that things can go on like this. None of them! Over the next few weeks, we will take a close look at which players Borussia Dortmund can continue to rely on in the future."

"Who will take on this situation now? Who will stand in the wind and who will take responsibility? This is not only an important week for the club, but also for each individual player. Anyone who doesn't show the right attitude will have no prospects at this club."

"In terms of personnel, things are looking good. All the players who were in Lille are fine and will also be involved tomorrow. Unfortunately, Felix and Daniel are still injured."
#BVB
"Carney always had little problems. In Lille, we saw that he can also play on the wing. He gives us a different dimension. We have to build him up selectively. 15, 20, 30 minutes. Those are the current options."

"Julian Ryerson will be there tomorrow, so everything is fine so far. Carney had a little incident vs. St. Pauli, he collided with someone and had problems with his thigh. We'll have another look at it tomorrow and will decide."

On the development:
"It's about stability. We don't concede much and are very good as a team. I like the fact that we're proactive, even against the ball. Offensively, you can see good approaches. But we're nowhere near where we can be yet."

Niko Kovac:
"The fact is that Felix Nmecha is still not there. I reckon he'll be back at the end of March. Julian Ryerson has a slight flu-like infection, we tried today, but he doesn't feel well enough yet and is therefore out of the squad tomorrow."

"Yan and Niki and maybe Waldi are the players who can play the right-back position."

Emre Can's contract expires in 2026. This puts the club in a very exciting position. Is he the right captain for the long term and can the urgently needed renovation of the squad be centred around him?
🗞 @BILD
#BVB
Planning for the summer has long been underway. Very difficult for the bosses at the moment, as income from European competition is not guaranteed as the current 10th place. The fact that several contracts expire in 2026 makes things tricky.

The biggest sticking point in the negotiations with Niko Kovac will be back on the table in the summer at the latest. The Croatian had prevailed with a contract until 2026, while the bosses primarily wanted a transitional solution until the summer.

What happens after the season is completely open. Both sides are now under pressure. The club needs immediate success with Kovac, but does not want to let him become too strong in his position just yet.

"We know what to expect in Bochum. Bochum are fighting to stay in the league. We can expect a fight and a lot of tackles. We have to accept that in order to leave the pitch as winners."

Niko Kovac:
"The first week was very intense, I have to say that clearly. We first have to get to know everything. Lots of new faces, lots of new names. BVB is a big club. We've been very, very well received. We want to take this feeling with us over the next few weeks."
#BVB
On the new signings:
"They both have great potential. Daniel Svensson has certainly had a longer break, but he is physically at a very high level. Carney Chukwuemeka came back from injury and hasn't played much."
