I don't like him, Aegon said simply, crossing his arms as they watched the Stark banners begin to flood the city.
We need him, Jace said simply, but he'd always gotten along well with Cregan, the little time they'd spent around one another.
Aly needs him, Jace added. Yes, but, he's so... Aegon waved a hand, trying not to look bored from the banister looking over King's Landing.
Northern, Aegon got out finally. They don't worship our gods, Jacaerys, Aegon complained.
You don't worship our gods, husband, Jace said, trying not to roll his eyes.

"Do you know who this stalker may be?" Aemond asked, his eye not leaving Luke's form - inside his home.
"I have..a guess," Luke said awkwardly, glancing around the room until his eyes stopped on a painting on the wall. It took up most of the living space, and Luke could likely guess it was painted by Aemond. It bore a strong resemblance to Luke, though the eyes were both bloody. Luke swallowed hard.
"At the clinic, I treated a man. He came back a few times, but I didn't think anything of it."

Jace could have guessed this would happen, he didn't need the Maester to tell him, it was obvious enough. Luke had been looking very round, abnormally round, and Aemond was more attentive than usual.
Jace watched as Aly played with Jacaerys in his quarters. Aly was running circles around the boy, who looked very much like a young Aemond with waved blond hair and freckles. They'd not interacted much in the past, but Jace thought it was time to truly make sure their families were bonded.
Especially right now.

"I need help," Luke says point blank.
"From me?" Aemond raises an eyebrow.
"Someone is... stalking me." Luke admits, looking uncomfortable. After all, he'd had Aemond arrested for the same reason, when he'd found him in his bedroom.
"I want you to find out who, and stop them." Aemond hummed, looking over Luke with something akin to hunger in his eye. He'd been looking at him like that since Luke showed up on his door step, ignoring the court ordered ruling that Aemond wasn't to go near him. "What's in it for me?"
Luke's hands balled up into fists.

When Aegon entered Jace's chambers, he likely knew his decision wouldn't go over well with his spouse.
May I see our child before you yell, Aegon asked before his body was fully in the room.
Briefly, Jace answered icily, but the babe was sleeping. He had no plans to wake her. Aegon knelt next to him on the bed before moving in beside him, looking down at the bundle in Jace's arms.
Which of us got our wish, Aegon asked.
You did, Jace said while adding, her name is Visenya.
You might think me mad, but I am glad they look more like you, Aegon admitted.

Aemond woke up to his bed creaking, and opened his eyes to see his little nephew Lucerys on the side of his bed, still in his night gown.
"Luke?" Aemond asked, watching him freeze up. "Did you have a nightmare?"
Lucerys nodded his head slowly.
"Do you want to sleep here?" Lucerys nodded again, and crawled in beside him. Aemond supposed he was scared to admit his fear to Jacaerys, he knew there were things he'd never tell Aegon, anyway.
"I'll chase the nightmares from your dreams," Aemond said softly as sleep began to take him again.

(light Joffron side)
Daeron stood awaiting the arrival of Joffrey Velaryon. He'd received message from Aegon in King's Landing that he was meant to watch over his nephew, with the heavy implication that they should wed as Aegon and Aemond had with Jacaerys and Lucerys. Daeron had no great want to marry Joffrey, he'd only seen him maybe once, a bit younger than himself. He had no strong memory of him, nothing that stood out, nothing beautiful about him.
And Daeron dreamt of something more romantic.
Soldiers began to arrive with a carriage.

Luke wakes up in a silent room the night after his so called wedding, tears pricking at his eyes as he remembers and feels what had happened.
It wasn't pain that upset him, it was the fact it'd felt so good that made him ill. But it had hurt, he felt the ache of it still, as Luke sat up.
Are you okay, he heard a voice ask, and sees Jace was still on the other side of the bed. Luke hated that too, that Jace had seen him like that. It was a good thing Jace had not been married to Aemond, Luke thought

Visenya, Jace said tiredly, holding another healthy girl in his arms. He had a halfsmile on his face as he looked down at her. She looked just the same as her sisters, and Jace began to think of himself, Luke, and Joff. He wanted to protect them as his mother had tried to do them You did great, Luke told him, as their mother kissed his forehead. If they're even half as bright and studious as you, the realm will breathe easy, Rhaenyra told him. She'd not hidden her love of her grand children, though she still hated Aegon, Aemond, and Daeron.

Things had been going well many moons into the pregnancy. Jace began to see things around him a bit differently than he had before. Alicents comments about the children felt less insidious to him than they used to. The council generally respected him.
With one exception. It took Jace a long while to get up from his seat and to the door, great with child as he was. Cole had been arguing nearly everything he said today, and it was beginning to drive everyone mad, not just Jace. He knew Cole had helped raise Aegon and Aemond, but he'd had enough.

You seem to be in a good mood, your Grace, Tyland Lannister told Aegon as he sat down at the head of the small council.
Jace sat his own seat, glancing at him. They'd had a good few weeks so far. Very good. It turns out Aegon wasn't all bluster when it came to pleasure. Yes, Aegon said as he clapped his hands together as his chair was pushed forward. I believe it's time we talked taxation and the army, Aegon asked, looking at the men around the table.
Jace was pleased to hear over the next hour that many of his ideas were being implemented.

What would make you happiest, Aegon asked Jace suddenly one evening, while the children were still in Jace's chambers, tended to by the maids.
I wasn't aware you were concerned with my happiness, Jace responded.
They'd only been married under threat of death, after all My brothers are happy, Aegon said, and Jace didn't doubt it. Their relationships with Luke and Joffrey were better, and Aemond actually wanted Luke.
It's not a matter of happiness, Aegon, Jace sighed as Aegon sat up between his legs. His husband wouldn't understand.

Jace stood beside Aegon at the dragon pit as he watched Tessarion and Tyraxes descend from the sky. The blue queen was quite a bit larger than Tyraxes, though the dragon was considerably bigger than Jace had last seen it. Definitely larger than Arrax now. The dragon wasn't the only thing that had grown. As Joffrey stepped off his dragon, Jace began to truly feel the weight of their time apart. Their little brother was taller than him or Luke now, though he didn't reach the height of the elegant Prince Daeron.
Joffrey ran to Jace.

Lord Corlys greets Jace with positivity, though the rest of the small council was less thrilled.
Jace didn't realize until he arrived that he wasn't given just any position - Aegon had dismissed his own Grandsire Otto Hightower as Hand.
He gave the position to Jace instead Jace can tell of all those who sat around the table, it was undeniable that Ser Criston hated him the most. He always had.
Their first meeting was rather uneventful apart from that, it was clear to Jace that Aegon was struggling more as king than he'd anticipated.

Luke's twins are well, though they're both smaller than the average But Jace has never seen his brother look so exhausted, even with servants and wet nurses. His 1st son had barely had his 3rd name day, and they already had 4 children.
I don't know how she did it, Luke says. Jace knows he's talking about their mother, and he agrees, but for other reasons.
The second daughter had come easier than the first, Daenys they call her. Jace finds himself in his chambers often, looking at her, hoping to find some sign of Aegon on her, but to him there's none

Aegon begins to offer Jace come drink in his chambers, though Jace initially declines due to the pregnancy. Aegon offers him tea instead, one that will help his stomach settle. Jace begins to think Aegon just wants the company and obliges. Aegon tells him about his day, about the council, about all the small minuscule annoyances that greet him day in and day out as king. He's never been trained properly as a politician, though Jace was for a time.

When Jace goes to Aegon's chambers that night, he's half surprised to hear his husband is actually in his room, but when the guards warn him not to enter, he thinks the worst.
And it makes him angry.
Aegon can do what he wants but within the castle feels like a slap to the face Jace enters the room anyways, pushing past the guards - but instead of finding Aegon with another person, he finds the man sprawled out on the bed, a spilled wine glass barely still being held in between his fingers over the edge of the bed.
Jace takes it from him and covers him

Luke looks confused when Jace asks him in his brothers chambers. One of his sons in his lap looks at Jace, not recognizing his uncle, because Jace finds it hard to be around them. There was a time he'd thought he'd be nothing but happy to meet Luke's children. But times change I don't know how to pretend, Luke tells him slowly, face flushed.
There's a reason he's expecting a third so soon, Luke says, glancing away. Aemond and him are very compatible it seems.
Jace wasn't expecting to find out that they sleep in the same quarters.

Their child is called Alysanne, though Jace had little say in it at the time, too stricken and in recovery to say yes or no. He tries to be a good parent to her, to teach her Valyrian. Aegon laughs telling him she's just a baby, but Jace doesn't want anyone to doubt her ability Sometimes she doesn't feel like his, he pretends sometimes she's Visenya, but he knows that Daemon and Rhaenyra weren't going to have a child that looks like him, Luke, and Joff.
He's not heard much from Joffrey, sent to Oldtown to be wed to Daeron.

Jace isn't expecting Luke to be with child again so quickly, only a few moons after the first. It doesn't seem healthy to him, though his labor was longer than Luke's was.
He begins to worry about what fate will befall him if he can't produce a son. They've made it clear they will not accept his daughter as Queen, not after what happened to his mother. Even moreso that people will be questioning her parentage, like Jace was.

When they get pregnant, Jace initially feels a sort of disconnect to it, until Luke admits something he's terrified over. If their children aren't born looking Valyrian, if their children look like them, there's a good chance rumors of illegitimately will spread Luke tells him he's afraid that this was the point in Aegon and Aemond marrying them, that their children won't look Valyrian - and that Jace and Luke will be put to death for "cheating" on the king and prince.
The words stay in Jace's mind like a parasite, eating away at him
