In the southwestern hills of Myanmar’s Shan State on March 11, junta troops started flowing into Pinlaung Township. At Nanneint village, the soldiers defiantly walked into a place of worship with assault rifles loaded, looking for violence. 2/11

In the wake of yesterday's shooting, Thailand is once again trying to make sense of another mass killing event. While the Korat shooting forever changed the country, this new event feels different.
Over the years, I've been researching Thailand's problem with guns, grappling with why the nation sees high levels of gun violence. There are more guns in circulation than most places in the world.
