Alright, let's talk about BERA incentive math for Boyco, since there's clearly a lot of confusion and misinformation getting spread.

I'll talk through some of the model, the design decisions for Boyco incentives, and a bunch of common questions & misconceptions. Image Let's first talk about what Boyco actually is -

Yes, it's a pre-deposit program.
Yes, it's a way to get liquidity into dApps.

It's also a giant game of chicken, due to the depositor's inability to withdraw until the expiration of the markets & variable rate markets.

The Bears spoke, and we listened.

Over the past 24 hours, we've shipped a bunch of improvements to the Boyco site- ranging from yield updates to backend improvements.

I'll quickly run through them below- in case anyone wants the inside scoop as we enter the final four days. Image 1/ A full backend upgrade - the site should load and feel significantly more responsive than it did yesterday.

6 months ago I wrote a whitepaper for a new protocol, designed to solve many of the long-term value alignment issues that current L2s face.

Today @thesink_L2 comes out of stealth- thread below:

github.com/thesink-l2/whi… 1/n Disclaimer: The mission is the same as I push forward daily at @berachain, so I turned the project over to those much better equipped than me to continue it's growth.

To be clear: I remain full time at Berachain, and am only lightly advising The Sink as it's original author.

Schrodinger's Token//

Arbitrum has had extremely successful ecosystem growth lately. Some of it is certainly driven by Airdrop Hunters and Sybils, looking to claim their share of free money.

But, could not releasing a token actually be the game-theory optimal play? Image Releasing a token is obviously good (at least in the short term) for ecosystem growth.

Projects are able to use token incentives to pull promising developers into the ecosystem, creating a sticky moat differentiating L1/L2s.

1/ Over the past month, 15+ institutional traders & investors helped me find the "true yield" in DeFi. In doing so, I found three underlying problems Crypto has to face

We think Smart Contracts cut out fat, but when the chips are all down how well do the numbers really stack up? 2/ Crypto is fundamentally a bet on systemically lower global rates and a hedge against inflation. As the relative value (yield) for storing dollars on-chain falls compared to the rates available in the real world, the relative yield production of digital currencies decreases.

1/ I've interviewed approaching 100 research analysts over the past 6 months. Information asymmetry in crypto is extremely high- yet the majority of interviewees aren't doing differentiated work in the space.

A quick list of the best way to set yourself up to get hired: 2/ Whitepaper summary ISN'T enough.

Confusion around crypto mechanisms has allowed an entire wave of low-level summarization. As info becomes commoditized, demand for summary work is going to decrease and become irrelevant. How can you do differentiated work?

1/ Some $XMON / @sudoswap Alpha

In the last 3 days, @kris (CEO of Crypto.com) has followed: @0xmons, @statelayer, @boredGenius, and @gemxyz .

@brian_armstrong (CEO of Coinbase) and Mark Nesbitt are 2 of Sudo's 12 Medium followers.

This is not financial advice ImageImage Room in the space for vertical mergers is extremely high. Capital is still readily available, and being first to market and capturing incumbent volume matters significantly more than being purely cost-efficient.

That's why Coinbase NFT is starting with 0 fees, then raising them

What's going on with @SiloFinance, and why is it the best fundamental setup in a minute- 🧵

ICYMI, Silo purchase 250k $CVX at an avg price of ~$17.40. That's $4.35mn. Beginning 4/8, they'll direct 100% of voting power to their $SILO : $FRAX gauge. Average expected emissions will be 14,218 $CRV and 87,299 $CVX to $SILO : $FRAX LPs every year. At current prices, that's an expected APY of >400% at current TVL, and 22% at $20mn TVL. For comparison, $STG's CRV pool is current hovering around the same yield.

Want to know everything going on with sharding, in 15 minutes or less? Let's give it a go-

As Big Poppa once said 'mo money, mo problems'
Gas fees are out of control
Congestion renders L1s useless
But there is hope
Enter Scaling Solutions: @NEARProtocol, @dYdX, and @Arbitrum 2/ Sharding is the process of splitting a database horizontally to spread the load. Basically, by distributing the data amongst many machines, the system can handle larger amounts of data.

Sharding is crucial for both increasing decentralization and scalability.

DYOR - What does that mean & how do you do good research in DeFi? Thread 👇

Most 'research' in DeFi is simple whitepaper summaries. Doing even basic level work can help you differentiate between protocols and evaluate risk / reward.

Included model examples, to get you started. The first step in analysis is bucketing the protocol. For us at @TheTIEIO , this consists of three categories: Ecosystems, Sectors, and Subsectors.

Ecosystems are broad- think every protocol on a certain chain. Within each ecosystem, you'll see relative strengths & weaknesses.

Imagine fading Olympus right now when there’s nearly a billion dollars of capital rolling out to spoons, permission-less Olympus Pro, and dilution should be largely paid by LP fees come January… The black hole is just beginning. Current APY Dilution costs are around ~$2mn/day...
Read: The treasury needs to take in $2mn on bonds daily to maintain stakeholder claim to Market Cap.
If APY is cut to 1/10th, costs go to ~$200k/day.
Currently LP fees generate ~50k-250k daily, with some much higher.
