The thing about societal collapse is it's not like one big moment where everything stops working.
It's just bad news getting closer and closer to you. A bombing in the middle east, then one in Tennessee. Mass shootings suddenly in the next town over. A series of near misses.
These near misses keep getting nearer and nearer. And you start to realize there are different kinds.
It didn't happen but it could have.
It did happen and it was close to me.
It happened and I was supposed to have been there.
It happened and I somehow survived.
It happened.

People keep asking why the Ukrainian government posts so much explicitly Nazi imagery, and why they don't just stop doing it if it causes them so many PR woes.
The answer is that it's not about what people think today. It's about what happens next. And it's not good.
That's also why I point it out every time I see it, because I don't want this to go unnoticed.
I don't have the ability to stop it from happening, but by railing against it every time I see it, maybe I can get the attention of someone who does. I have to try.

There are a few reasons conservatives locked onto calling any trans people they run across "groomers."
#1 is that the F-slur and T-slur are no longer socially acceptable to say, so they found something new
#2 is that an accusation of pedophilia is so odious, it makes others not want to come to that person's defense. It intentionally isolates the person they're hurling the accusation at, making it easier to instigate violence against that person without repercussions.

DINNER POSTING RESUMES IMMEDIATELY.
Roast chicken with cheesy loaded potato.
Ingredients:
Chicken drumsticks
3 small red potatoes
1 large onion
1 can black beans
1 can hominy
1 can sliced olives
2 slices of bacon
Shredded cheese of your choice
Spices
Dice the potato (skin on) and the onion. Drain the cans of olive, beans, and hominy.
Mix salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, cumin, and oregano in a bowl.
Heat and oil a large pan. Start sautéing the onion on medium heat, stirring frequently. Add a spoonful of spices.

A thread of things that people are getting wrong about the pardon announcement:
1) "It's getting people out of jail!"
It only applies to people with simple possession convictions. There are zero of those people currently in federal prisons. It will not release anyone.
2) "Well of course it doesn't release anyone, he doesn't have the power to do that"
Yes he does. He can pardon people who got a parole violation for cannabis, or people who got drug enhancements for cannabis, or people who have PWIDs. As long as the charges are federal.
