You know that thing where people are unable to take compliments gracefully? Yeah, I bet you do.
And I'm not talking about just that; more generally, it's all these hitches in life about seemingly small, but fundamental issues.
Everywhere there's people that have trouble with being able to take compliments, with enjoying what they do, or to enduringly be pleased, or doubting their own (established) abilities.

1. Starting out, what *is* the ego? The definition I'll use is, the ego is a mental pattern of identification, that is, of a "me"-making. It is the periodic thoughts that attribute this or that thing (thoughts, feelings etc.) as me, and some others (eg. objects, body) as mine.
