I recently find that I'm a big believer in the idea that the quality of software you produce stems from the quality of your software production process.

So what I'm primarily doing right now at Casava is engineering a top quality software development process. A process which doesn't need me or any of the process designers to execute frictionlessly. I should be able to travel to wherever & know that things will work as expected.

A process simple enough for anyone to understand & see how they fit in.

This is my 2.5 iteration.

A random thought that crossed my mind this morning, as I lay on the bed thinking about business strategies, like I do almost every day:

"For the cock, there's absolutely no gain in telling the leopard that the thing it carries on its head isn't a flame." Inspired by a childhood folklore I read as a kid about the cock whom the leopard feared because of the comb on the cock's head.

The cock desperately wanted to be liked by the leopard & didn't understand why he only inspired fear. So he went out of his way to become so likeable.

As an ex-Interswitch, I've heard insider stories of how Visa responded to Interswitch's first request for them to come into Nigeria in the early 2000s.

I heard that it was a meeting between Charles Ifedi & Visa,and the ending wasn't pleasant. The market was too small for them.

I heard that it was one of the things that forced Interswitch to start their own card brand Verve, in 2004.

Verve started in partnership with Mastercard, publicly known as Mastercard/Verve then.
