I recently denounced my Christianity. The first realization hit when I understood it was antithetical to my people’s ancestral traditions and beliefs. But what came after that shocked me even more As a Christian, I was basically hedging my bets to avoid being tortured in hell for eternity. I’ve always believed in God, and growing up in the Midwest, Christianity just seemed like the obvious true religion.
