A community-based ecosystem which converts food waste into nutrients for vegetable and fish farming, known as Sustainability@Tampines Park, is set to be expanded to other parts of the town. straitstimes.com/singapore/envi… HOW IT WORKS: a black soldier fly facility converts food waste into a byproduct known as frass - which is rich in nitrogen, making it suitable as fertiliser. The larvae itself, being rich in protein, is fed to tilapia fish.
