Sara hurried into the sitting room and straight to the couch where she tugged at Nomso. He stood to his feet after feigning reluctance to her cheer.

She grabbed her nightgown and was about to put it on when her eyes met Victor’s portrait on the dresser. She picked it and dropped her nightgown. As she stared at the portrait, she sat on a nearby chair, running her hands on her breasts. She smiled back at the face of her favorite person in the world.

Nomso was seated on the single couch with Sara on his lap, facing each other. Their interaction was a mix of pranks, laughter and hisses for the power failure.

They were having fun till they heard knocks on the gate and Sara had to go for it. It was a delivery guy. Surprised, she signed and collected the package then ran back inside happily. It was a gift from Nomso.

She wrapped her hands around his neck and kissed him before opening it. It was a dress, a necklace, with matching earrings and anklet.

Sara walked up naked and tapped Nomso on the back. He looked over his shoulders and quickly dropped his phone, making space for her to lie next to him.

As she climbed her way into his side, she flashed him a look that begged for attention. He knew she deserved all of it and so held her close as she snuggled into him.

The time was 11:40 on the cross over night of what has been a hectic year for her. He has had to watch her vent, grieve and dry tears that won’t stop pouring.
