There’s no putting the “AI” genie back in the bottle. Instead of denying this and expecting abstinence from a technological revolution from regular people at the retail level while every corporation & government adopts it in various ways… I think there’s a serious & growing organic base of regular people, freaked out & ready organize toward regulatory demands & a say in how the stuff is used, esp with public investment.

Hardly anyone in the US knows what “Jewish state” means. For most US Jews the concept is a total abstraction. “‘Jewish and democratic’, why not?”

But once you get into the nitty-gritty of what it actually might mean, Jewish opinion on its importance varies widely. Image When questions shifts from “do we have a right to a Jewish & democratic state?” to “can a state be both Jewish & democratic?”

Suddenly Jews aren’t so sure. “Can it really be both? if not, maybe it shouldn’t be Jewish.”
