As a Frum person from Montréal, I have a lot of experience dealing with surviving hot temperatures so here is some free curated advice.

Thread 🧵 1. Remove your Shtreimel

I cannot stress this enough. If it isn’t Shabbos and you are wearing one of those giant furry hockey pucks on your head, hold it in your hand. But don’t Chas VeShalom take off your Yarmulke or Tallis.

Walked into Montreal’s Lubavitch Yeshiva basement for Maariv and discovered an impromptu old school Farbrengen set up in honour of Yud Kislev, a Chabad holiday celebrating the release of the “Mitteler Rebbe,” Rabbi DovBer Schneuri, from imprisonment by Czarist Russia in 1826. Farbrengens in the Yeshiva basement Shul™ have not changed in 60 years. I’m pretty sure the gefilte fish & marble cake are just defrosted remnants of a large Kiddush prepared by Chef Soussan back before the basement kitchen was turned into a Mikva (they just widened the sink)👍

As we slowly being reopening Synagogues during this pandemic, we at Chabad of Notre Dame de Grace are taking the utmost precautions to keep everyone safe.

In this thread I will detail some of what we are doing to make YOU comfortable renting our Shul for a Bar Mitzvah. As you’ve seen in my previous tweet, every Mezuzah in the Shul has been outside with a face mask to protect YOU from catching germs.

In addition, we have schmeared each yarmulke with large amounts of Purell, and volunteers will reapply the Schmear between every Aliyah.
