This weekend we found a pigeon in front of our house that was clearly in some kind of distress... it was walking around, but wouldn't scare like a normal pigeon and seemed unable to fly. Closer inspection found a tag on its leg. It's a homing pigeon! We took it in... 1/n
NYC animal control said they wouldn't come get it. After googling a bit, I learned the tag was issued by the "National Pigeon Association", and if you email their secretary they can help you track down the owners. 2/n

Follow me on a little recap of my time at @nycplanning over the last 3 years. I was recruited after @arielmai introduced me to @fuchsnyc . He was building a progressive, data-savvy team focused on analyzing and influencing NYC’s Capital Budget. 1/@NYCPlanning@arielmai@fuchsnyc The team had been assembling new data products and cleaning up old ones, and the missing piece of the puzzle was a digital platform to make the data more accessible. The simplified dream: see all of NYC’s capital projects on a map instead of parsing through 4000 pages of PDFs. 2/
