Proudly politically correct & woke activist. Silence is assent. The standard you walk past is the standard you accept. Opposed to LNP/ALP climate criminals.

1/4 @lovinglimbo @flickusdelcon @redplanet1969 @CazThomas8 One of my pet hates about twitter are the knee jerk assumptions and follow up likes. Saying "user pays always hurts the poorest" is wrong & unthinking. User pays is the best system so long as it's well designed. 2/4 It's designed to cost most to those who use our resources the most. So it's pro-environment. At the same time almost any user pays system can be designed to cost according to means. Courts, for example could levy fines according to income - as in some EU countries.

@DaveSharma's folly re Trump's deplatforming from Twitter (1) No one has a right to publication on @twitter or anywhere, otherwise I can demand @SMH publish my letters (2) There's no such thing as a right to free speech, it's a privilege curtailed by laws/social standards. Thread (3) You can't on the one hand advocate for the free market & on the other hand advocate to control it whenever it does something you don't like (4) Less than almost anyone globally his deplatforming does not restrict his freedom to speak - he has the world's media at his disposal

My view is that regardless of what our ignorant @ScottMorrisonMP Govt does Australians are unlikely to be able to buy a new ICE car by 2030. Why? Because Japan, South Korea & many EU countries are likely to stop making them by then. Currently South Korea and Japan plan to phase out sales of new ICE vehicles by 2035 in their countries. The UK in 2030 and France in 2040, California in 2035. But it's not just what happens in those countries which are big manufacturers but also what happens in their markets.

To be clear. There is no such thing as free speech. Firstly speech is constrained by a vast variety of laws. Laws against racism, against incitement to violence, against libel and vilification. Secondly, leaving aside legal restrictions, no one has any right to publication. You can stand on your soapbox in Hyde Park, or wherever, and say whatever is legally permitted but you have zero right to publication on any platform. A private publisher has a right to refuse to publish anything they want, if they disagree with the content.
