Guardian Pro users can now try out experimental WireGuard support on macOS 🙏

direct download for WireGuard-enabled build: guardianapp.com/macos/wireguar…

get Guardian Pro: guardianapp.com/pro/ taking a super slow and cautious approach to rollout, but initial testing seems to be going great.

I can’t wait to dig into new capabilities that are not provided by IKEv2, such as split tunneling and use of multiple parallel tunnels.

the ironPeak post was pretty bad and wow I am amazed at how much is going around about all this without evidence T2 is and has been vulnerable to checkm8, released in late 2019.

what is proven: with physical access to such a computer and time to reboot into DFU to apply checkm8, one can boot arbitrary code on the T2.

this number seems low and is a big reminder that I will need to get more info pushed out to the public about this. WSJ did good work but only scratched the surface. also surprised they didn't dig deeper on period trackers. there is some odd stuff.

example: Period Tracker Lite (#30 in Health/Fitness, 20k+ reviews, itunes.apple.com/us/app/id33037…) sends 'fact of' sensitive actions, like start of a period, or marking the user was intimate, to Apsalar.

the way firms respond is very intriguing to me. for example, ASKfm indicates that they do this to improve user experience, yet the public website of one tracker (Huq) even has an earnings calculator and describes how they pay for your data. in fact Huq is probably the most direct about buying your location data from app developers. cannot get much clearer (huq.io/publishers/). I do not think these payments are addressed at all in responses from any companies.
