Additionally, according to Vice, the NFL’s policy on players standing for the national anthem also changed in 2009, with athletes “encouraged” to participate.

There is a military-entertaimemt complex that regulates and dictates how America is depicted through Hollywood. The Pentagon has directly supervised 400+ Hollywood movies and worked behind the scenes, approving scripts in some capacity in 800 major films and 1000 TV shows.

If a script has any mention of the American military or any form of portrayal of a uniformed member, not to mention if the film requires the use of military weapons, bases, equipment or vehicles etc.— they can only access them through the Pentagon from whom they need approval.
