The economic situation in Laos is dire. In 1 yr+ the currency has gone from 8500 kip= 1USD to 22000. It’s just lost 10% in 2 days. No one will accept kip anymore, only US or Thai baht. Fuel crisis getting worse. Petrol near impossible to find/only sold by bottle for double. In Luang Prabang, the few hotels & restaurants that survived 2 years of closed borders, the inflation, cost of goods, currency crash will probably be the straw to break the camel’s back.
