The door to their shared apartment opens again not even five minutes after Kiyoomi left for his date.

"That was a quick one," Atsumu comments from his place on the couch.

"Don't even get me started on that asshole." Asshole indeed. Atsumu already hated the man from pictures alone.

Considering that their second date ended before it even began, Atsumu might keep the description.

"What's that?"

Atsumu feels the words as a warm breath against his neck. Kiyoomi being the big spoon will always be his favorite position to cuddle.

"What," Atsumu reaches to where fingertips are touching the back of his head, "that?"

"Yes," Kiyoomi murmurs as their hands brush at the same spot. "That must've hurt."

A third glance over to his teammate now confirms it for Atsumu.

Sakusa Kiyoomi, msby rookie with his debut on the starting grid approaching in merely thirty minutes, is nervous. The tension seems to creep up only higher in his shoulders as they listen to Foster's explanations, and Atsumu can see Sakusa bite his bottom lip unconsciously.

Maybe somewhat normal nervousness for anybody else, but completely out of the ordinary for Sakusa.

Before Kiyoomi can think of an answer appropriate enough to greet both his daughter and ex husband, they already come into the kitchen.

Mei waits just long enought for Kiyoomi to turn around before giving him a short but squeezing hug;

Walking through the hotel lobby, Mei hands the phone back to Atsumu, the ongoing call on the display visible.

His daughter hums approvingly before she wanders over to a stack of magazines, immediately flipping through the first few colorful pages.

Atsumu allows himself to take one more deep breath before picking up the phone to his ear.
