A garbage truck is set up at North/Halsted, presumably to stop flaggers from heading downtown amid street closures for Mexican Independence Day. But cars are just driving around it and into oncoming traffic lanes. I'm making my way downtown on a divvy for photos @BlockClubCHI
Multiple police officers are checking IDs and directing traffic at Halsted/Chicago. Drivers seem very confused and very frustrated.

I'm on my way to Grant Park, where it appears at the Columbus statue is surrounded by protesters and police officers. I'll be there in a few minutes on bike. Here's one of the squad cars that I've seen heading towards the South Loop.
