Day 7 of testimony (Day 8 in court) of the Luigi Mangione suppression hearing. It’s frigid in NYC and the press outside is dwindling…stay here & @LAmag for live coverage.. Luigi Mangione entered the courtroom, greeted by a smiling Karen Agnifilo. He's wearing his navy suit with a very light pink shirt. Marc Agnifilo and Jacob Kaplan are also seated at the defense table, but Mangione is leaning towards Karen. Pool Photographers do their thing.

Luigi Mangione Day 6 (Day 5 of testimony) Afternoon: Patrolman Fox back on the stand to continue his cross-examination by Karen Agnifilo. KA is going through the order of events prior and after the Miranda Warnings were read.

Fox now confirms that Mangione did move his head in a "side to side" direction when asked the question of why he used a fake ID.

KA: You told him he could remain silent correct? Then you ask him if he has any weapons?

Fox: Yes Ma'am

KA: So at 9:52AM, you knew he had a knife.

Fox: Yes Ma'am

KA: But you allowed him to keep his hands on the wall, you didn't cuff him, correct?

Fox: It was moments- I put my gloves on to get the knife, and then I looked at Burns, and he shook his head to place him in handcuffs.

Fox says Mangione asked him if he could take his jacket off (before he got the knife) and Fox says he told him to hang on and place his hands on the wall. KA says we should watch the BWC footage of this sequence (we are).

Day 6 (or 5 depending) of Luigi Mangione Suppression Hearing. Stay here via @LAmag for live coverage. Mangiones just walked in and sat at the defense table in a navy blue suit and the pink and white checkered shirt. Yesterday, he did a first pump for the photographers. From what I can see, he's speaking to his lawyers and looking at his notes for the cameras.

Officer Christy Wasser is back on the stand for cross-examination by Karen Agnifilo.

Agnifilo confirms that Wasser was alone the morning of December 9, 2024 (in her patrol car ) and heard the 911 call over dispatch regarding the alleged CEO Shooter at the McDonald's to Detweiler.

"You decided to head over to the McDonald's correct?

Yes.

"Did anyone assign you there?"

No.

"You called Officer Detweiler, but he didn't ask you to come to the McDonalds" correct? You went anyway?"

Correct.

"Are you a supervisor?"

No. Agnifilo points out that Wasser did not activate her BWC when she first arrived at the McDonald's upon arriving at 9:44AM, through the side dining area (notes that she slipped as well).

Day 4 (technically Day 5, but defendant was sick Friday) of the Luigi Mangione Suppression Hearing. Karen Agnifilo and Jacob Kaplan are in attendance, Marc Agnifilo is not. Mangione just walked in, wearing a dark grey suit and a light blue button down shirt- he took a moment to look around the gallery while he was getting his shackles/cuffs off. After both sides approached the bench for a brief discussion, the first witness for the state was called: Blair County, PA First ADA Nicole Smith.

🚨The preliminary hearing for 3 of the 5 defendants accused in the horrific murders of #VeronicaButler and #JillianKelley is set to begin tomorrow and is expected to last about three days. Notably, 2 defendants will be testifying for the state. Meanwhile, Defendant Tad Cullum’s second chair filed a conflict on December 12th—cutting it close, aren’t we?
