When is the Covid #Casedemic going to end? Why have we decided that a positive case is worth canceling events, quarantines and school closures? The data and the science just do not support this.

Here are some facts.

1/X Covid survival rates for infected people by age group:

0-19 years 99.997%
20-49 years 99.98%
50-69 years 99.5%
70+ years 94.6%

Children to not die of Covid and neither do young adults. Also they are usually asymptomatic and children are not significant transmitters.

2020 deaths for Covid-19 & flu/pneumonia.

Green bars are Covid-19 deaths (with or without pneumonia) and blue bars are Pneumonia & Influenza without Covid-19.

Under 25 deaths are greater for flu/pneumonia. There is no reason schools/colleges should not be fully open.

How are your college students doing this year? Home, on campus, online, happy, sad, depressed, anxious, locked down?

Please comment with your story. My daughter is a senior RA in an upstate NY college. She is on campuses an apartment with all classes online (other students have in-class instruction). She is anxious & unhappy (also going through bf breakup). Very strict mask & social distance rules. Mandatory self-check daily.

* July internal DOH report blames nursing home staff for deaths claiming Mar 25 order not a factor
* NY only state that does not include those who were transported to hospitals & subsequently died there as nursing home deaths

1/9 I beg you to reconsider stopping the $600 unemployment checks. Not everybody is making more on unemployment. I live in NY & w/the NY check it's $1000/wk - $52,000/year. That isn't much when you made 2 1/2 times that. 2/9 I have a mortgage payment, car payment, tuition for my 2 daughters. I cannot take a job making $36,000-$52,000 due to my bills. My daughter was scheduled to have hip surgery for the constant pain she lives in. I lost my insurance and my wife's has a very high copay.
