Lord Chris Patten calls the concept of an "organised No Deal" absurd and "an oxymoron if there ever was one". Addressing the objections to the Northern Ireland backstop made by many hard Brexiteers, Lord Patten emphasised its temporary nature and pointed out "it is worth remembering that the backstop was agreed in 2017 with @BorisJohnson and @DavidDavis in the cabinet".
