Articling is bad and should be abolished.

If you disagree, ask yourself what you would tell a first year associate asking whether they should solo (they shouldnt).

If articling doesn't prepare you adequately to practice without further support (it doesn't), what's the point? Replace articling with the law practice program being deployed at @RyersonULaw. I may be slightly biased (I'm co-teaching their Aboriginal law course), but the program is phenomenal and when they graduate, the students are going to be *much* better prepared than if they articled

Manitoba Justice is actively misleading @WinnipegNews.

While Headingly may have "890 beds" its "rated capacity" (according to Justice!) is only 594. The fact that they treat the jail as being at 150% capacity by default is super concerning.

gov.mb.ca/justice/commsa… @WinnipegNews I mean, It's good that Headingly is now 1 inmate below capacity (for probably the first time in decades), but as the inmate himself said, distancing is impossible.
