Clarity: Twitter would have been OK with tactical changes. He wants attention, so he created a spectacle of firing, and generated chaos to test limits. Bootlicking at 1am “to fix it”? Ha. He’ll cut wages when he needs more attention, and Chapter 11 after leveraging the user data. The ultra-rich get bored easily. When you have everything and can pay for anything, the excitement wanes. They have to continue to stretch and test boundaries to get their excitement. And when you can’t stretch and test boundaries, you manufacture your own excitement for fun.
