1/ This is a long thread about my experience with food stamps both as a child & later as a mother.

My parents divorced when I was 5. My 2 brothers and I went to live with our dad at my grandmas because our mom shared a 1 room apt. with a roommate. My dad was eventually able to 2/ move us into an old crappy trailer, but at least we had our own place. It had been owned by an elderly woman who loved to sew. The old green shag carpet was full of sewing needles that she had dropped and was unable to find. We spent months digging those needles out.
