Hi hello! This thread is gaining traction again after like 4 years. I haven't really been back on Mastodon until recently just coz of lack of interest. I've been told that a couple of my issues (lack of PoC, overly sensitive CW norms) are softened since. My larger point still stands though: Mastodon isn't immune to harassment, decentralization is not a magic bullet, inclusion is not passive, and also the Dev Talk way Mastodon is often described by others just ends up alienating folk.
