One reason why it hits me hard to see what Ivanishvili is doing to Georgia🇬🇪 is that this was the first country on my walking journey where I sensed the smell of freedom in the air.

All the countries before had been authoritarian, some more (China) others less (Kyrgyzstan). As an illustration of this "smell of freedom", I will show you some photos of street scenes with political posters from Iran, Azerbaijan, and then finally Georgia. And you will understand what I mean.
