Happy Women’s Day!

A big challenge that women in academia face is having their qualifications constantly questioned by some students. To me, that misogyny feels worse when it comes from women students. Takes a lot of patience to turn those moments into teachable moments. 1/n But I persist! A lot of students come from backgrounds where their exposure to diversity and freedom from archaic gender roles is extremely limited. I should know, my knowledge of America came from Hollywood. So I like to give them the benefit of the doubt. 2/n
