Public Invitation
Dear @GaryGensler
I’m sending this tweet as a public invitation for you to appear as a guest on my show Making Money with Charles Payne. We have extended several invitations and all have been declined. I’m used to highly visible and influential progressives

declining invitations to come on the show the list is long including @Benioff and @ianbremmer and so many others (essentially anyone that uses the word “inclusive” and champion higher min wage, expanded public housing and more food stamps as a way to “help” certain people)

The topic isn't being charged with a crime of the massive efforts by Democrats to teach illegal immigrants the law and their rights. There has never been a democrat effort like that for millions of young Black men (overwhelmingly in progressive cities) herded into legal system where they meet an overworked public defender 15 minutes before meeting a judge and are often offered two options - neither of which is fighting back legally. Young, afraid and many expecting to go to the joint at some point they accept "justice" that further crushes their life

My thoughts
I’ve said for a long time there is an amazing societal convergence that sees the peak of materialism, elitism, and need to be recognized all at the same time. Anything that can add to the façade of prestige and importance from photos in front of private jets to post on Instagram to the surge of plastic surgery procedures including 200,000 teens last year.

When the media frames President Trump reopening government as a "win" for Pelosi it underscores the true source of division and divisiness in the country. Government should always be seeking policies that benefit the nation. When those policies, are creating jobs and higher wages, wider prosperity and optimism it's a win for America not a person or party. Oddly that narrative has been nonexistent the last two years and those "wins" hardly reported.

Today I was rushing home walking through Time Square when I had to stop for traffic. There was a homeless women sitting under the sign with her head down. I slipped $50 bill into the hat she was using to collect any donations. I turn back and waited for the light to change. That's when someone tapped me on the back. I turned and it was the woman, standing there with tears in her eyes. She reached out hug me and told me she could buy her medicine. Her emotions were so powerful and I hugged her back as I shed a couple tears, too.

Powell Interview
When Rubenstein recalled how Powell shot to prominence in DC circles when he was at the Bipartisan Policy Center and pushed Congress to raise the debt ceiling in 2011. He talked about incoming bills to bolster his case not hiking the ceiling would be a disaster. This dovetails with the warning from Fitch yesterday that if the debt ceiling isn't raised America's economic standing will be hit hard (and their rating lowered from AAA). This makes the shutdown a bigger deal the longer it goes on.

This is so disingenuous but not surprising. Bloomberg suggesting "woes" of richest company in world which got to keep tens of billions from Trump tax cuts should supercede fair trade and IP protection for all US co.s Bloomberg hates Trump fighting back and upsetting the system that benefits billionaires at expense of American jobs. Is this the plareform Mike Bloomberg will run for president.

I'm an eternal optimist but realize there is too much media/elitist animosity toward Trump to see any real healing. I agree the Commander in Chief has to lead and when he does it should be reported without whataboutism currently used to mitigate every effort and accomplishment. This weekend 34 shot in (3 fatally) in Chicago and media calls it "gun violence" never Bloods killing Crips and never blaming elected officials other than those in favor of the 2nd Amendment. Disingenuous reporting reporting has enabled the slaughter of inner city youth for years

It's going to be one of those one-sided mornings painting republicans as racist and democrats as the nice White people that have been trying to help Blacks for so long, Listening to Tim Kaine complain about gaps in income and wealth as resulting from GOP policy is a farce. Last week we learned Black women in NYC earn $0.43 less than White men by far worse than national average I didn't hear any democrat complain or point fingers. Moreover, when talking about the inequitable justice system we should never forget the blueprint of mass incarceration -

Tariffs on cheap China Steel will not spark a trade war.
We have to stop being so damn afraid and predictable. On 9-11 hijackers took advantage of our sense of civility and calm knowing we had been taught to wait out those situations and not fight back. Never Again. Currently there are certain nations that take advantage of our civility and commitment to ridged belief that "free trade" really exist when there are hundreds of active cases at the WTO at any given moment. China isn't going to risk $500 billion to protect cheap subsidized steel.
